I only read your most recent post but I like that you mentioned that bit about diabetes. My mom also has type 1. It came on when she was in her 40s. She had to do the prick her finger for years to check her blood sugar levels but thankfully now she has a glucose monitor on her arm that makes it much less painful. I too was planning to make major updates to my site the last few weeks. I work at a community college and this is our longest break of the year. I also got way too busy and haven't really done anything with it. I'm trying to change my home page to an Alice in Wonderland theme. I love your name Crow Queen by the way. Your built-in RSS link for auto-detection points to rss.txt, but that does not exist. rss.xml is present, but not linked anywhere. Users must guess the correct filepath.
